Three years later, Chang Feng and Qian Yue are just as happy as they were on their wedding day. Unfortunately, fate has decided to throw them a most unexpected curve.

Celebrating their three-year anniversary with a romantic riverboat excursion, Chang Feng and Qian Yue’s trip is cut short when their town falls under attack by a horde of “madmen”. As the most capable commander in Jin Sou Si, Chang Feng doesn’t think twice as he rushes back to the village to help fight off the attackers. Leaving Qian Yue on the river, Chang Feng is sure his wife will be safe but when he returns to the river he’s devastated to find that Qian Yue has fallen prey to one of the “madmen’s” attacks. With Qian Yue and the rest of the town’s injured quickly turning into vicious “madmen”, Chang Feng takes it upon himself to uncover the cause of this mysterious outbreak. Racing against time, can Chang Feng find the cause of this inexplicable outbreak, and even more importantly, can he find a cure?

Oh my! I found this little gem after getting bored and searching for a show to watch. I was in one of those moods where I really didn’t know what type of show I wanted and what type of genre I wanted but I knew I didn’t want anything complicated, that was pretty much my only thought when I was scouring for something.
I stumbled upon this and the name alone got my interested. After reading the description I thought the mans wife died so I was a little iffy but I said “heckers” and clicked into it.
I was a bit surprised with how short the episodes were but it was actually a pretty decent upper class type of show and that took me by surprise.
The main male actor has played in quite a bit of things but I’ve seen him in My Girl and in some clips of Sweet Sweet, but I have a few more of his show’s on my list to watch!
Lu Xiao Yu was the female main lead on Qing Qing Zi Jin, which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND watching that if you haven’t!! I also did a blog post about that show as well, its soooo worth the time! https://letsreviewtogether.com/qing-qing-zi-jin-c-drama/
She is quite the little dear actresses, she is super cute and very much plays that innocent beauty well.

The opening episode was interesting enough that it kept my attention and now I am thoroughly intrigued! Where are they going to go with this?
What will he do? Will he confront her? Kill her? Run her off? Run away With her? Despise her? Love her? I need answers!
I am quite enjoying the concept of this show.

Oh my goodness *sniffles* was a cute enjoyable slow blossoming love story! They had a touch of all the elements but it was so wonderfully woven together and not over done that I truly enjoyed watching them tell their story.
From Tragedy to sad, to happy, to worried, to growth, to love, to best friends to lovers relying on each other!

Well then! I can say I was NOT expecting such a scene in such a small series! Especially with the type of show it is :O I’m surprised lol.
That being said, while they didn’t show anything other than a peek of the shoulders, you knew exactly what was going on.
For the type of scene it was, it was honestly very well down.
It was gentle, sweet, possessive, a hint of anger, sultry and sensual and full of romantic love.
Quite a beautiful scene actually.

Oh my! The Plot has thickened! That Lord Wu’an is truly a pumpkin head!
When he decided to storm Chengfengs mansion, how dare he! Who does he think he is!?!?
LOLOLOL Chengfengs right hand lady, holding up her fists to them ready to battle was hilarious and cute!

How dare he treat her like that and be so heavy handed toward her! I want to kick him in the shin’s! You pigheaded bully!
The Princess is so sweet and pure, a lovable beauty with the innocence of a young lady, she still has compassion for that pigheaded man and still likes him. I’m glad he is slowly starting to feel guilty toward her. As he should!
But fine, I will say when he moved her onto the bed and took the hard bench, that was a small lovable moment.
He better get his crap together!!! I want him to be good!

AWWWW Poor Qianyue!!! Such a bittersweet moment filled with love and grief! The poor girl. There is no right answers to that type of situation, the paths that were presented to her by that woman, they are all dangerous and all of them lead to grief!
You better stop being mean to her Chengfeng! She’s already so stressed!

The complicated relationship between Chengfeng, his father and his brother is a little bit funny, I hope all of them reunite later and actually be there for each other rather than be so distant and buttheads.

OH NO!!!! RUN CHENGFENG!!!

As a side note, I am really quite impressed with the costumes and scenery of this show, considering you would think its low budget because the episodes are about 15 to 20 minutes long per rip but it’s actually pretty decent.

Come on Quinyue!!! You got this!!!

My My My, Lord Wu’an grew a concious! Good. I like him again.

I really love the fact that we are being shown the love between them. Its a factor of this show that is keeping me hooked. He loves her, SHOWS her, tells her and keeps her safe and takes care of her, even knowing the bad. YES. That is so attractive! They are fighting for each other to be together and be a family and that’s so precious. I love it. In most type of shows we don’t get this time of dedication. Most shows by this point have they breaking up or falling part due to seriously STUPID miscommunications and so far we haven’t even had a HINT of that in this series.
My hope is so high that we won’t have that but alas, I should probably put a pin in that bubble thought and hold tight.

LOLOLOL Him being mean to the Queen to bring stuff to the princess cracks me up. Hahahaha his right hand man giggling at him. priceless!
Ahaahahaha this episode is cracking me up! I love the Princess! Hahaha. This is the greatest. The bug scene was so stinken adorable and I do believe he just fell a little bit in love with her! *cue the giggles*.

I am just so much enjoying both love stories here! I Love it so far!! The sweet passionate love between Chengfeng and Quinyue and the slow blossoming trust love between Lord Wu’an and the Princess. Both are swoonworthy!
Also the fact the Princess knows Lord Wu’an is using her and needs her… and still choosing to allow him while continuing to be herself is truly a lesson for all of us!
Sometimes being mean isn’t always the answer and she is wearing him down bit by bit and teaching what Love is. *sniffles* so cute.

“Smacks the wall!!” THIS MAN!!! “How about from now on, when you vomit, I’ll vomit with you.” WHAT A MAN. WHAT A SWOONWORTHY MAN!!!
That’s so romantic! LOL!

I love period scenes in shows, when the girl gets her monthly period and the guys is so surprised but super sweet and takes care of her, I enjoy that. So many men out there think it’s so gross and wrong or have huge misunderstandings about it, that seeing it handled the right way always warms my heart!

Awww they are so cute!! I am liking Wu’an now!! I’m so proud of him for going to his brother and queuing him in on what’s happening!
OOOOOH LAALALALALA, that was such an angry face Lord Wu’an made and it was deliciously hawt!
I am loving the romance between them. That kiss was the perfect mixture of gentle and sweet and full of longing!

TSCH! CHENGFENG YOU DESERVED THAT!!! How dare you not clue her in!!! You completely deserve a chin kick for keeping that from her!

Also as sad and hard as it was, I’m so proud of Wu’an for accepting reality when it came to their other family member. That’s gotta be the hardest thing ever but he finally managed to do it. Hugs my dude, hugs. <3

LE GASP!!! How DARE THE FATHER!!! HOW DARE HE!!! Chengfeng and Quinyue are literally in the middle of nowhere minding their business, far away from everyone and staying at home and the Father has the outrageous Audacity to barge in as if he is anything of importance and has ANY right to make that type of decision!?!?!?! I’m so ooouutttragggeeed at him!!!!

“Sniffles” Alright this scene done sprang a small little tear to my eye. What a sad episode…
What a ironic twist of fate Wu’an had to endure… how crazy everything comes full circle.

Honestly with every path that had been presented to Chengfeng, the path he chose truly was the only way out with any type of chance.
Same with Wu’an. As sad and heartbreaking as it was, it could have been so much worse!

There Dad annoys me so much, like why doesn’t he actually choose his kids rather than the nation? They would have been by his side rather than didn’t want anything to do with him. Harrrummpp!!!

This series ended on a good note even though they glossed over some of the details that I would have liked to know more of, it was a super super cute short series and with great quality!
I definitely recommend giving this a watch if you want to watch something easy and fast with a sweet love story involved!
All of the acting was wonderful, all the characters had beautiful growth, the scenery was amazing and the fight scenes were fun!
This was quite the well rounded show and it was such a Gem to find!!!
