I confess, I’m only giving this a try for Chen Zhe Yuan! I’ve been wanting to watch a time period costume with a great story but since there is so many things I wanna watch and Sword and Fairy 6 starring Xu Kai and Ester isn’t out to binge watch at the moment, I decided I might as well watch this one first!
Are these connected? Is this a follow up or a later continuation of the Sword and Fairy saga? Let’s do some research!

Ahhh its based of video games!! Several of them! Here is a comment from reddit that someone commented:

I hope I’m right…

Sword and Fairy 4/6 or Chinese Paladin 4/6 are all stories from the same franchise (videogames). But these stories are not connected to each other = you can watch each drama without having to know later or earlier seasons.

Btw.

Drama: Chinese Paladin 1 (released 2005)

Drama: Chinese Paladin 2 (not yet filmed)

Drama: Chinese Paladin 3 (released 2009)

Drama: Chinese Paladin 4 (released yesterday)

Drama: Chinese Paladin 5 (released 2016)

Drama: Chinese Paladin 6 (released today)

How have I not heard of this game before? *Strokes chin* I must immediately look it up! I do like to game in my spare time, although am I good at it? No, I’m subpar but I enjoy it and that’s all that matters! Which game should I start with first? The very first Chinese Paladin or should I do Paladin 6?
Hmmm, questions, questions, questions!

Ahahaha, the first episode is pretty funny and whimsical. Considering this show is based off a game I think that will adjust my perspective on how CGI it’ll come across.
The first episode has been enjoyable and I love when he threw her across the room and yelled “Woman run!”. That made me crack up XD

Ahahahah “I’m not crying yet!”. What a hilarious sentence.

So far I am really enjoying their journey together and the pace of the show is keeping me engaged! I am only on episode 7 so we shall see if this continues to stay the same.

Episode nine was great!! When he burst with power, it looked and WAS powerful!!! And when he stabby stabbed the bad guy, that was such a cool looking move!! When the power went through him and he stopped and turned… I crackled! I CRACKLED!

The music and costumes are fabulous! There is some easily silly scenes that are more fake but obviously with this type of show and the fact that it’s based off a video game gives allowance for that. The fight scenes have been fun and he actually has POWER!
Ugh, that makes me sooo happy!!! Which of course is more activated by protecting his loved ones and so far it’s been a great storyline!
And things are making sense. I am liking the natural progression of the main male leads character. He know things and is powerful but he doesn’t really KNOW things and emotions as he’s been on an a mountain alone for most of his life. Everything is fitting!

Listen, I don’t think I’ll ever make as an immortal because I thought all of them were right and that the Grandmaster punished them was wrong… LOLOL, I shall never cultivate with my immature mindset I guess. Goodness πŸ™ this hurts to know πŸ™

Also LISTEN, The man in black, the employer… He’s so stinken cute!!! I need more of him and his story!!! Ugh he’s just so handsome, I can’t wait to see what his real form does πŸ˜€

Aaahhhhh the switch from Tianhe, THE SWITCH! That was HAWWWTTTT πŸ˜€ I’d wish we would have gotten a touch more of that!

Oh no πŸ™ My Heart πŸ™ Episode 20 around minute 20 πŸ™ Oh NO! That was a sad touching scene πŸ™

One of the things I’ve really been enjoying about this show is the bond between Tianhe and Han Lingsha. You can see the obvious genuine affection they have for each other. That they really do have a true bond. They’ve done so well acting and conveying this. I swear at this point in the show there is even more affection/intimacy show between them then there was between the main couple in The Last Immortal.

Episode 25 was honestly a super wholesome episode with some character development on Tianhe’s part.

I ABSOLUTELY LOOVVEEEE THE DEMON QUEENS DRESS!!! I immediately need one!!! It’s Gorgeous and queenly!!!

Ya’all! I can’t say enough good words about this series. I absolutely have enjoyed every single episode and I LOVE how the romance naturally progressed between the main leads!
I have adored the four people’s friendship, it was pure and wholesome and the entire time they stuck up for and defended each other!
This has healed some of my heart from other shows that have stupid 520945 episodes of miscommunication that eventually just ruin most of the story.
But Not this one!!!
It was EXCELLENT!!!!
The actors and actresses did SO Well with all of their roles, I’ just have loved this entire thing.

Knowing this was based off the video games I did go into it with pretty low expectations so maybe that has helped. There is a several details that don’t add up or make sense or were just forgotten in a scene but honestly with how the main storyline itself progressed, I can forgive and forget all that.
The joy between the four friends being there for each other was contagious. Being there for each other even when a couple had feelings for the other.
They KNEW that the main leads loved each other and there was no inference, no stupid jealousy, no stupid seven hundred episodes of dumb trying to destroy them.
THIS drama was completely up my ally!! It had Morales, Friendship, Courageousness, Trust and Loyalty!!!
And the last nail in the coffin that absolutely stole my heart was both leads entrusting each other to their best friends </3
So stinken pure and made my heart SO HAPPY!!!

The dragon looks sooooooo cool!!! I Love it!!! Hilariously enough it looks less CGI then some of the dragon’s I’ve seen in other shows!

This may just be my delusional mind but when Xuan Xiao does the evil laugh… it’s HOT. HAWT. HAWT. Also that wig looked FANTASTIC on him.

I finished it all, its done and over with!!! MY HEART.
It was a bittersweet ending! πŸ™ A good ending that made sense but MY HEART!!!

Ugh what a wonderful adventure and experience I had watching this! Again since this was based off video games I think that immediately shifted my perspective of it and I wasn’t expecting an epic ten out of it.

But honestly this was fantastic, I seriously enjoyed every episode, the pace was ON POINT! Now again, there is a lot of details missing and some of the storyline doesn’t really make sense but I could care less about it all!!
The journey, the character growth, the pure friendship, the courage to do what’s right, the epic love between the leads, the epic love between all the friends, the masters sticking up for the students, the forgiveness Tianhe had even in the end for his “brother”, the not betraying each other between the friends, the no stupid jealousy moments, the support everyone gave to each other. UGH!!!
I LOVED IT!!!! I can forgive the missing details, this show was epic!!! And honestly even the CGI was super well done in my opinion!

Also I was already a big fan of Chen Yue Yuan but I really feel he even upped his game with this character.
The naive innocent boy that grew into a man was extremely well done in my opinion and when he had his “switch” he did that SO well. Truly out did himself in his performance.

Also the magic weaving looked more natural and graceful to me, which is a huge important detail for me personally!

Anyway this is a solid NINE and half for me!! I would of said a solid ten if the details and the storyline were a bit more put together!

Definitely recommend watching this one!!!

Lets Review Together <3

This is such a beautiful picture!
