“In a fantasy land populated by fierce mortal clans and a wide pantheon of warring deities, a young, virtuous, and loyal man named Mu Chen (Roy Wang) searches for answers – despite the ravages of war, love, and family secrets.

He is the son of the clan leader of the Mu, and has long been obsessed with finding out what has become of his natural mother – who was forced to flee Mu lands to protect him when he was still a young boy.

Mu Chen decides to embark on a strict training program that he hopes will provide him with the skills he needs on his quest for truth and justice.

One day, while making his way down the Spiritual Road, Mu Chen comes across a woman who is being attacked by violent assailants. Mu Chen comes to her rescue and soon discovers that she is Luo Li (Na Na Ouyang), a princess from one of the four clans of the Eastern Heavens realm.

Usually cold and aloof, Luo Li is grateful for Mu Chen’s assistance and is charmed by him. The two become close, agree to join forces – and eventually discover that they are romantically attracted to one another.

Will love come calling for Mu Chen and Luo Li? Will Mu Chen ever discover the whereabouts of his mother? And who will win the fierce battle for dominance as gods and mortals clash in a test of strength, skills, magic, and cunning?

This drama was based on a novel of the same name, written by Li Hu, and published in 2013. The novel also spawned a hit animated series.

*************************
So I first started Yong An Dream but wanted to see who was the cast so I started clicking on the cast and came across The Great Ruler and it sounded interesting so now I am on this and will see how it goes and maybe get introduced to the female lead to see how she acts before I dive back into Yong An Dream.

… I was about to say, why he look so tiny, then his Dad came beside him and oh… he is still a kid LOL. (inserting this after watching the whole show, that’s just his size LOL).

So far its been a bit silly but I am enjoying it! I am getting some Harry Potter vibes with a fantasy game play vibe and honestly I’m here for it! Hahaha!
Also at the end of each episode there is some bloopers/behind the scenes scenes and I really like that! I wish more series would do that. Its fun and neat to see.

There has been some cute funny moments in this journey we are on, one of them being when his poor friend couldn’t take the hint to go away while he was teaching her to cook. That made me laugh lol.

I love that the friends are doing their best to stick together and have each others back… but of course following the normal plotline, we have one friend going bad… He keeps going down the wrong path but I am hoping (against odds I know) that he will come back to the right side and depends on his friends who are his family!!
Especially the girl who loves him and is doing everything she can think of to be there for him.

Some of the details in this show makes me laugh. They have this HUGE dorm room with so many beds in it yet only one person is there and apparently “using” it.

I honestly wish we could have gotten more adventures of him not being able to see. I wish they would have trained him a lot harder so he was more refined in that aspect and made him learn how to fight with his cane and incorporate that into his lifestyle and embody the old man style! but alas they did not. I’m a bit bummed that my wild thoughts didn’t get put into action LOLOL!

I am laaaaughing so much!!! Love that they did the full pause on each of them jumping into the fight. That was hilarious!!!

I am mad at the friend that went even further astray. Why isn’t he even attempting to trust his friends or get their help??? UGH! Just Betrayal after betrayal!!!

So I will say there has been plenty of lackluster and dragging moments in the storyline but I have enjoyed it and I feel like I am playing a mmo game and doing side quests here and there to level up my power to fight the big main boss at the end of the journey. Has been fun!

He is so high up in the air in that bed, it cracked me up lol.

The bad guy with the red lipstick smeared all over his mouth drives me innssaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. It looks terrible!!!

UGHHHHHH WHYYYYYYYYYYY MUBAI WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*throws a chair at you*

I really like Qingshan and Senior Sister, I hope they get together, they are adorable <3

Okay sorry but that rescue mission was stupid, they didn’t even try??? what????

Ahahahaha I was waiting for this line and it finally came!!!

“With Great Power Comes Great Responsibilities”

Dang you Mubai, DANG YOU!!!! Why do you keep disappointing me! It’s not fair!

Tsch, here comes the rift between lovers -__-

All that work and effort and that was the outcome???? GRR.

Ugh they are introducing my most hated troupe line >.< UGHHH WHYYYY. I HATE this so much!!! Le GRR GRR.

Ugh and they followed through with it, drives me nuts, I hate it. Why do they do this nonsense?!?!! I know why, I know why, they make it be dramatic and all that but really the only thing it makes me wanna do is fling my phone and turn it off.
Le Grrr.

I finished it!
We did it! We got through it! I enjoyed the journey and all the magic and the storyline but I think it did need to cut off about 15 or 20 episodes and condense them a lot better. Some parts were heavily lagging lol.

But all in all this is worth a watch if you want something along the lines of harry potter vibe with mmo game vibes!!

This whole story was about a boy with no power gaining power steadily along the way with side quests to get more powerful to save the world… With how much power he gained and how many times he got severely hurt a few times towards the end when he shouldn’t have been…. I think they really could have done better with that regard but that goes back to them drawing the storyline out.

I did enjoy almost everyone’s relationship in this series and I really liked his and his dad’s relationship. His Dad believed in his son and was doing the best he could after everything.

Mubai really made me so mad but I guess in the end he did right and the fact that he saved his wife and kid… he redeemed himself a Little in my eyes lol.

I am glad this had a happy ending despite all the drama adventure.

The acting was decent, not outstanding but it was decent enough to be enjoyable.

Let’s Review Together <3
